About the Role

Our clinic in Maywood is looking for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who is a great team player, patient-centered, and passionate about working in Specialties. Loyola Medicine, a member of Trinity Health, is a nationally ranked academic, quaternary care system based in Chicago's western suburbs. The CMA will utilize a defined skill set consistent with their education, certification, and experience to deliver direct care to patients in the ambulatory setting.

Working under the direct supervision of a physician, the Medical Assistant is an integral member of the healthcare team, responsible for coordinating pre-visit, intra-visit, and post-visit aspects of patient care. This includes direct patient care, registration and scheduling, physician-patient communication, and other office-related tasks. The CMA will also administer medication and collaborate with other healthcare professionals and ancillary services to coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care and support to patients and physicians throughout the entire visit, from arrival to checkout.
• Take patient histories, assist with routine tasks and procedures, and handle telephone messaging.
• Coordinate scheduling, follow-up orders, and visit-related tasks.
• Work under the supervision of a registered professional nurse when additional expertise or assessment is required, or in the absence of the physician.

Requirements

• High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education.
• Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• At least one year of previous job-related experience (preferred).

Qualifications

• Must possess at least one of the following Medical Assistant credentials within six months of hire:
  • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association – required upon hire.

Pay

Pay Range: $18.16 - $28.14 per hour. Actual compensation will fall within this range and may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
