Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I ***Sign-On Bonus***

CAN Community Health is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I with a sign-on bonus for applications received between now and August 31, 2026.

Schedule

• Full-Time | Day Shift
• Monday-Thursday: 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
• Friday: 8:30 am - 12:30 pm
• Extended Hours Schedule (bi-monthly rotating): Weekday 10:00 am - 8:00 pm; Weekend 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

Pay

$23.27 - $26.76 hourly based on experience

Responsibilities

Medical Assistant - Primary Tasks

• Performs medical intake procedures including vital signs and history
• Performs complete patient evaluation and assessment
• Records and reports on symptoms, reactions, treatments, and changes in patient’s conditions
• Performs immunizations as directed by the physician
• Practices safe phlebotomy skills using standard precautions

Front Desk - Primary Tasks

• Practices CAN Community Health’s mission, vision, and values
• Greets and assists patients with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
• Accurately collects, processes, and posts patient payments, including co-pays, deductibles, and outstanding balances
• Verifies and updates patient insurance information and eligibility during check-in
• Schedules and confirms patient appointments, managing any necessary follow-up for missing documentation

Phlebotomy Tasks

• Performs venipuncture and fingerstick on all patients as ordered
• Identifies patients using two unique identifiers and verifies test orders prior to specimen collection
• Prepares collection sites using aseptic technique and selects appropriate collection equipment
• Labels specimens accurately at the point of collection
• Processes, centrifuges, and prepares specimens for transport or analysis according to laboratory protocols

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred
• Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA) is required or ability to achieve certification within 6 months of hire
• CPR certification required
• 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting preferred
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
• Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have valid insurance and driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a Level I and Level II background check as required
