About the role

The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting under direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
  • High school diploma or equivalent and 2 year certification program as Medical Assistant. 6 month experience preferred.
  • Accepts 6 month certification program with at least 2 years experience.
  • Completes a formal accredited training program and receives national Certified Medical Assistant certificate.
  • CPR Certification
  • Office machines (i.e., multi-line telephones, copy machines, computer, etc.)
  • Medical equipment as appropriate for position
  • Good human relations and oral/written communications skills
  • Bilingual Yup'ik/English preferred

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications
