About the role
The Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting under direct supervision of a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
Responsibilities
- Performs technical, patient care, and related clerical functions in an ambulatory setting under direct supervision of physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 2 year certification program as Medical Assistant. 6 month experience preferred.
- Accepts 6 month certification program with at least 2 years experience.
- Completes a formal accredited training program and receives national Certified Medical Assistant certificate.
- CPR Certification
- Office machines (i.e., multi-line telephones, copy machines, computer, etc.)
- Medical equipment as appropriate for position
- Good human relations and oral/written communications skills
- Bilingual Yup'ik/English preferred
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
Qualifications

- Minimum Hourly Pay: $28.92
