About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant will work at OGI Carmel office in Carmel, IN, supporting the patient care team at Axia Women’s Health.

Responsibilities

  • Engage patients professionally by assisting with patient care, recording critical information, and providing necessary information.
  • Prepare exam/procedure rooms, clean, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain and clean sterilizers according to a scheduled maintenance program.
  • Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms, assist with transfers, and help with dressing.
  • Accurately record patient medical history, vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications, and scan lab or imaging reports and hospital notes into the EMR.
  • Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as needed.
  • Assist with various procedures and screenings.
  • Relay instructions and pertinent information to patients.
  • Complete forms/requisitions to ensure accurate patient records and proper billing.
  • Adhere to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Current national certification such as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA.
  • CPR certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or combination of experience and documented internship in a medical office preferred.
  • Previous experience in an OB/GYN setting preferred.
  • Greenway experience is a strong plus.
