About the role
The Certified Medical Assistant will work at OGI Carmel office in Carmel, IN, supporting the patient care team at Axia Women’s Health.
Responsibilities
- Engage patients professionally by assisting with patient care, recording critical information, and providing necessary information.
- Prepare exam/procedure rooms, clean, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain and clean sterilizers according to a scheduled maintenance program.
- Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms, assist with transfers, and help with dressing.
- Accurately record patient medical history, vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications, and scan lab or imaging reports and hospital notes into the EMR.
- Perform venipuncture and collect specimens as needed.
- Assist with various procedures and screenings.
- Relay instructions and pertinent information to patients.
- Complete forms/requisitions to ensure accurate patient records and proper billing.
- Adhere to Patient Confidentiality Policies and HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED.
- Current national certification such as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA.
- CPR certification.
- Minimum of 1 year recent experience working in a medical facility as a medical assistant or combination of experience and documented internship in a medical office preferred.
- Previous experience in an OB/GYN setting preferred.
- Greenway experience is a strong plus.
