Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I

About the role

Axia Women's Health is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant to join our team in Freehold and Manalapan, NJ. This position offers varying days/hours between 8:30-5:30, with shifts typically between 4-4.5 hours per day. Starting with 15 hours per week, there is potential for increased hours based on coverage needs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA guidelines and perform infection control protocols, including preparing exam/procedure rooms, cleaning, setting up instruments and equipment, and maintaining and cleaning sterilizers.
• Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with walking transfers or dressing as needed.
• Maintain patient records by accurately recording medical history, vital signs, symptoms, complaints, and medications, and scanning lab or imaging reports into the EMR.
• Assist providers with various procedures and screenings, and relay instructions and pertinent information to patients.
• Complete forms/requisitions to ensure accurate patient records and proper billing.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED, with some college preferred.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant education program.
• Current national certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NCMA).
• CPR certification required.
• Minimum 1 year of recent medical assistant experience in a medical facility/office or equivalent internship.
• eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience is beneficial.

Pay or Shift Range

$18 USD to $23 USD
