Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) I

About the role

The Certified Medical Assistant at Lexington Women's Health Care Center in Lexington, KY, Hamburg, and Brannon Crossing assists with patient care, records patient information, and performs various procedures under the guidance of Axia Women’s Health physicians.

Responsibilities

• Engage patients professionally and assist with patient care
• Record and maintain patient medical history, vital signs, symptoms, and medications
• Prepare exam/procedure rooms, clean, set up instruments and equipment, and maintain sterilizers
• Accompany patients to exam/procedure rooms and assist with transfers or dressing
• Collect specimens and perform venipuncture as needed
• Relay instructions and information to patients
• Complete forms and ensure accurate patient records for billing purposes
• Adhere to OSHA guidelines, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED
• Current national certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA
• CPR certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent experience in a medical facility as a medical assistant or equivalent experience preferred
• Previous experience in an OB/GYN setting preferred
• Greenway experience is a strong plus
