Responsibilities
- Collaborate with RNs and healthcare staff, implementing established policies and procedures to ensure the delivery of quality patient care, intervening with proper techniques and safety precautions.
- Gather patient history, verify medications, and make appropriate referrals for follow-up, demonstrating a commitment to comprehensive healthcare support.
- Adhere to designated work schedules, respond effectively to codes or patient crises as per site policies, and assist healthcare practitioners as assigned.
- Prioritize infection control techniques and principles, contributing to the emotional and physical comfort and safety of patients.
- Maintain working areas, supplies, and equipment, attending mandatory staff meetings/training to uphold a high standard of healthcare delivery and professional development.
Requirements
- Successful completion of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) course.
- Minimum of one year of clinical experience preferred.
- Currently certified as a Medical Assistant in the State if certification is required by the State or the facility.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification if required.
