About the role
Spurwink is hiring a Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) for our soon-to-open Lewiston Crisis Center. This center offers a warm, welcoming environment for individuals ages 14+ experiencing urgent behavioral health needs. As an alternative to hospitalization or law enforcement intervention, we provide stabilization, observation, assessment, and short-term intervention in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment. The center operates 24/7, 365 days a year, promoting safety, dignity, and recovery.
Responsibilities
- Use Intentional Peer Support (IPS) practices to develop connection and trust.
- Share lived experience intentionally and ethically to normalize crisis experiences.
- Work collaboratively with crisis workers and other team members.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification and/or Certified Recovery Coach certification preferred.
- Peer support work experience required.
