Certified Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator - Outpatient Wound Care

Job Summary

The Certified Hyperbaric Safety Coordinator at St. Elizabeth Healthcare is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Registered Respiratory Technician or LPN
• BLS Certification
• Certification as a Hyperbaric Technologist through the National Board of Diving & Hyperbaric Medical Technology within three years of hire
• Completion of an approved Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety course once hired
• Must complete HBO Safety Director course once hired
• Able to think critically and problem solve in clinical situations
• Maintains current skills, knowledge and competencies in chronic wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy
• Knowledge of HBO pertains to chamber safety, chamber usage, HBO treatments, chamber maintenance, treatment scheduling and HBO physiology
• Hyperbaric equipment and related systems troubleshooting skills
• Successful completion of preceptorship and orientation to the health system and clinical area
• Two years of experience in patient care environment
• Six months' experience working in an HBO setting, including chamber operations
