This role involves direct communication with and support for the healthcare team, patients, and their families or significant others. The position requires maintaining high standards of professional ethics and contributing to the delivery of quality patient care within the organization.
The Clinical Decision Unit is on the first floor of the Kelemen building. It is a locked unit requiring a badge to enter or a doorbell to be let in. The Clinical Decisions Unit (CDU) is a 35-bed, single-room unit where patients are typically observed or wait for an inpatient bed. Multidisciplinary rounds occur Monday – Friday, involving the patient in their care and allowing collaboration for the best possible care and appropriate discharge. The Express Admit Unit (EXAU), managed under the CDU, has 6-bed areas for admitted patients awaiting a floor bed. Both CDU and EXAU can have patients on telemetry for cardiac monitoring.
