About the role

Adjusts approach based on patient and family understanding of test procedures and troubleshoots equipment malfunctions or patient issues.

Prioritizes clinical and administrative work independently and identify process improvements.

Assists physicians in performing specialized cardiovascular procedures, including diagnostic and interventional catheterization, pacemaker/defibrillator implantation, intra-aortic balloon pump operation, and electrophysiology studies.

Evaluates and documents patient status, responding appropriately to ensure optimal outcomes.

  • One year of cardiac catheterization lab experience preferred, additional special procedures experience preferred
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or Registered Technologist - Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (R.T(CI)(ARRT)) required
  • Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Physical requirements as outlined in the physical requirements document

Qualifications

Education: Associate degree in health science required, or technical/vocational school graduate in invasive cardiovascular technology required.

Experience: One year of cardiac catheterization lab experience preferred, additional special procedures experience preferred.
