About the role

The RN utilizes the Nursing Process in a collaborative manner to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with his/her scope of practice. The RN supports the goals and philosophy of the Department of Nursing within the St. Joseph's Healthcare System and on his/her assigned unit.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the Nursing Process in a collaborative manner to plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in accordance with his/her scope of practice.
  • Serves as a resource to other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team to achieve patient outcomes.
  • Assesses patient needs and develops individualized care plans.
  • Evaluates patient progress and modifies care plans as necessary.
  • Documents patient care in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Participates in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provides education to patients and families regarding their health status and treatment plans.
  • Adheres to hospital policies and procedures, including infection control protocols.
  • Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and colleagues.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey.
  • Successful completion of a department specific orientation and department specific certifications of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Licensure required as a Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey.
  • Successful completion of a department specific orientation and department specific certifications of Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within one year of hire.

Pay

St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.

Hours and schedule vary depending on the department and shift.
