Certified Athletic Trainer – Field

About the role

Sentara Medical Group is hiring a Certified Athletic Trainer – Field in Elkton, VA. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour work week, requiring onsite coverage at East Rockingham High School. The successful candidate will work closely with coaches and athletic staff to coordinate schedules, events, and athlete care, and must be able to work independently and autonomously while managing daily responsibilities and athletic coverage needs. Flexibility to accommodate evening and/or weekend athletic events is also required.

Responsibilities

As a Certified Athletic Trainer, you will evaluate, advise, treat, and educate athletes who experience athletic-related injuries or illnesses to maintain peak physical fitness. You will travel with the team and be available at sports events and during practices to offer prevention, maintenance, and assistance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training required
• Board of Certification (BOC) certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) required
• Virginia Athletic Trainer License required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
