About the role
The Nursing Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator is delegated the authority and responsibility for administrative supervision of staffing for the Central Staffing and Timekeeping Office. The Nursing Staffing Coordinator will facilitate balanced resources and sharing of staff across the System and collaborates closely with the Baptist Health Transfer Center to ensure adequate staff to meet capacity demands.
Responsibilities
- Create daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for nursing staff in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Baptist Health standards.
- Ensure each facility has maximum level of staffing to maintain full capability for patient care.
- Lead the daily staffing call and work with the Chief Nursing Officer to ensure the best staffing plan for each campus.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience with staffing and scheduling in a 24/7 healthcare setting (preferred).
- Prior staff scheduling in healthcare (preferred).
- Proficient computer skills, including Excel and/or other staff scheduling programs.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
- Ability to use independent judgment, critical analysis skills, and creativity to solve problems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of both written and verbal communication.
- Ability to lift and move office equipment and business supplies.
This role utilizes an electronic staffing system platform and requires strong communication with nursing leaders.
Shift: Night | Working Hours: 2000–0830 | Authorized hours: 72.00 bi-weekly
