About the role

The Nursing Staffing/Scheduling Coordinator is delegated the authority and responsibility for administrative supervision of staffing for the Central Staffing and Timekeeping Office. The coordinator facilitates balanced resources and sharing of staff across the System, collaborates closely with the Baptist Health Transfer Center to ensure adequate staffing to meet capacity demands, and is responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly work schedules for nursing staff in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Baptist Health standards. Additionally, the coordinator ensures each facility has maximum staffing levels to support full campus capability for patients, leads the daily staffing call, and works with the Chief Nursing Officer to develop the best staffing plan.

Responsibilities

  • Administer staffing and scheduling for the Central Staffing and Timekeeping Office.
  • Facilitate balanced resource allocation and staff sharing across the System.
  • Collaborate with the Baptist Health Transfer Center to meet capacity demands.
  • Create and manage daily, weekly, and monthly nursing staff schedules.
  • Ensure maximum staffing levels at all facilities to support full campus operations.
  • Lead the daily staffing call and develop optimal staffing plans with the Chief Nursing Officer.
  • Maintain confidentiality of written and verbal communications.
  • Lift and move office equipment and business supplies as needed.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of experience with staffing and scheduling in a 24/7 healthcare setting (preferred).
  • Prior staff scheduling experience in healthcare (preferred).
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel and/or other staff scheduling programs.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience using an electronic staffing system platform.
  • Strong communication with nursing leaders.
  • Ability to use independent judgment, critical analysis, and creativity to solve problems.

Schedule

Night shift: 2000–0830 (8:00 PM to 8:30 AM). Authorized for 72.00 hours bi-weekly.
