About the Role: Center Director (Part-Time, $20/hour) The Family Resource Centers of Columbia County is seeking a warm, enthusiastic, and organized Center Director to lead our Playgroup Programs in Valatie and Hudson, NY. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with young children, supporting caregivers, and building community connections through hands-on, play-based learning. The Center Director will report to the Executive Director and manage the day-to-day operations of the Playgroups, including staff coordination, activity leadership, and community engagement. This is a great opportunity for someone with early childhood experience who is looking to grow their leadership skills in a supportive, mission-driven environment. 📍 Playgroup Locations & Schedule (Resumes September 2025): Valatie Playgroup 📅 Mondays & Wednesdays | 🕙 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 📍 Martin H. Glynn Municipal Building, 3211 Church St, Valatie, NY 12184 Hudson Playgroup 📅 Tuesdays & Thursdays | 🕤 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM 📍 The Hudson Youth Center, 18 South 3rd Street, Hudson, NY 12534 Each Playgroup Includes Free playSnack timeCircle timeGross motor playSeasonal field tripsSpecial guest programming (coordinated by the Center Director) Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate all aspects of Playgroup sessionsPrepare and implement weekly activities and lessons using a provided curriculumSupervise and support Playgroup staff, volunteers, and internsTrack attendance and program data for evaluation and grant reportingSchedule and host special guests (e.g., music, art, or nature educators)Plan and lead seasonal field trips for Playgroup familiesParticipate in a weekly check-in with the Executive DirectorMaintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for children and caregiversShare program highlights and updates with families and community via FRC social media Qualifications 2+ years of experience working with young children and/or families in an educational or community settingFamiliarity with child development and early learning (ages 0–5)Experience working with or supervising a small team is a plusExcellent communication, time management, and organizational skillsCulturally competent with a demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)Ability to foster strong relationships with families and community partnersKnowledge of Columbia County communities is a bonus Hours & Compensation Part-Time: Approximately 12 hours/weekPay: $23/hour Includes Playgroup sessions, stakeholder communication, setup/cleanup time, and weekly meetings Questions?
