Cemetery Supervisor

Job Responsibilities

• Reviews and discusses daily work schedule with supervisor/manager.
• Implements work schedule and guides coworkers with responsibilities ensuring gravesites are properly prepared and set up prior to services.
• May adjust assignments to different areas of the Park considering ongoing services.
• Proficiently performs cemetery maintenance responsibilities along with staff.
• Duties include but not limited to, installing outer burial containers; lowering device set up; burial, entombment, interment openings and closings procedures; properly hand digging graves and disinterment, and; maintaining tools and equipment.
• Guides, trains, and provides constructive feedback to staff.
• Ensures work is performed to company standards and complies with regulations.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least two (2) years industry experience.
• Interment layout, memorial setting, and operating cemetery maintenance equipment preferred.
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Leadership and coaching skills.
• Ability to use power and electrical equipment; ability to use manual hand tools such as clippers, loppers, and hedgers; ability to drive all-terrain quad vehicles with hitched trailers.
• Professional verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills preferred.

Work Conditions

• Work outdoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
• Frequent continuous kneeling, or standing up to 6 hours per day; frequent bending and stooping.
• Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required to dig using manual tools; lift, carry, or haul to 50 lbs.
• Work hours may work beyond standard hours or schedule as business needs arise.
