Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for performing duties as a Finisher / Cement Mason.
  • Provide personal hand tools as per the Local Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Perform activities such as patching concrete, placing vertical and/or horizontal concrete, handling concrete buckets, operating power tools like a mechanical vibrator, and using motorized equipment.
  • Operate various hand and motorized equipment including trowels, troweling machines, vibra screeds, concrete saws, angle, and floor and ceiling grinders, drills, hammers, and chisels.
  • Read a tape measure in feet and inches, and perform basic math functions.
  • Work during inclement weather, exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise, and dust from construction operations.
  • Smooth and level concrete poured into formwork for slabs, walls, columns, sidewalks, and other structural elements.
  • Ensure proper surface preparation and finishing techniques based on project requirements and specifications.
  • Apply curing, sealing, or hardening compounds to concrete surfaces as needed and patch voids and repair surface imperfections using proper finishing techniques.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds with assistance.
  • Must be able to frequently walk, bend, kneel, reach, and climb.
  • Must be able to speak and understand instructions and directives in English.

Prior Experience

  • Certification in crane signaling and rigging preferred.
  • At least two years of concrete construction work experience as a Cement Mason that meets or exceeds performance expectations.

Salary Range

Salary range for this position is $26.00 to $28.00/hour based on experience.
