About the role
The position is available up to 20 hours per week, with a typical schedule between 9am and 12am, including weekends. Shifts may vary but are usually available from 10:00am to 5:00pm, 11:00am to 9:30pm, and 3:45pm to 10:30pm. Weekend availability is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate entire table service for guests
- Communicate with front and back of house personnel to provide a world-class dining experience
- Deliver gracious hospitality and ensure all guests receive friendly, courteous, and prompt service
- Run their own food orders
- Process guest orders to ensure proper preparation and timely service
- Present, open, and pour wine when serving guests
- Observe diners to ensure satisfaction and address additional requests
- Total bills and accept payment or refer guests to supervisors
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the complete menu and beverages on hand
- Up-sell menu items and beverages accordingly
- Work on POS system in accordance with guidelines
- Maintain cleanliness of cutlery, china, and glassware
- Ensure uniform is clean, neat, and in good repair
- Stock, remove, and reset dishes and silverware between courses
- Clean and reset vacated tables
- Conduct oneself according to Biltmore's goals, culture, service standards, and fundamental values
- Maintain a clean working environment, adhering to sanitation, health, and safety standards
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant required
- At least six (6) months of related restaurant experience in a fine dining/upscale setting, preferably in a multi-unit resort
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering world-class guest service and anticipating and exceeding guest expectations
- Excellent guest relations and communication skills
- Terrific attention to details
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced, guest service environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, good judgment, and initiative-taking abilities
- Professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Biltmore standards
- Must be at least 18 years old
Physical Requirements
- Lift, carry, push, and pull 25–50 pounds
- Lift and carry 25-50 pounds on a large serving tray, above shoulder level, with one hand, bent in reverse 90 degrees
- May often serve in hot interior or exterior areas
- May work double shifts based on business demands
- May work more than 20 hours per week based on business demand
