CDS Mail Carrier

Responsibilities

• Sort mail in delivery sequence for 158 active boxes.
• Load mail and parcels in delivery sequence into the delivery vehicle.
• Deliver mail along an assigned 109.2‑mile line‑of‑travel.
• Dismount, if required, to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items.
• Perform other administrative duties as needed.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Ability to lift 70 lb.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Residency in the Nixon, Texas area.

Vehicle Requirements

• Applicant must furnish a vehicle that meets postal regulations and driving requirements.
• One dependable vehicle providing at least 120 cubic feet of usable load space (e.g., mini‑van, SUV, truck with camper shell).
• Liability insurance of $100,000/$500,000/$100,000 or $600,000 (CSL) for the contract vehicle.
• Applicant is responsible for all vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance costs.
• Vehicle reimbursement is paid in addition to the hourly rate.

Employment Details

Work Schedule: Part‑time, day shift – 7:45 am to 3:18 pm (end times may vary based on mail/parcel volume). Typically one to two days per week.

Pay: $25.92 per hour plus vehicle reimbursement. Straight‑time, Health & Welfare, and Holiday pay are provided as cash equivalents up to a maximum of 40 hours per week, in accordance with the Department of Labor Wage Determination under the Service Contract Act.
