About the role
CDS Mail Carrier positions are available for applicants to deliver mail on a CDS mail route solicited and posted by the USPS in the Princeton/Athens, West Virginia area. Applicants must be at least 18 years old with a valid West Virginia driver's license, capable of lifting 70 lbs., and residing in the area.
Responsibilities
- Sorting mail in delivery sequence for active boxes.
- Loading mail and parcels in delivery sequence into delivery vehicle.
- Delivering mail along an assigned line-of-travel.
- Dismounting if required to deliver parcels, Express mail, and other accountable mail items.
- Other administrative duties as required.
Minimum Vehicle and Insurance Requirements
- Applicant must furnish a vehicle meeting postal regulations and driving requirements.
- One dependable mini-van or equivalent providing 150 cubic feet of usable load space for mail and parcels.
- Liability insurance of $100,000/$500,000/$100,000 or $600,000 (CSL).
- Responsibility for all vehicle maintenance, fuel, and insurance costs.
Pay and Schedule
- Starting pay: $26.97 - $27.97/hour plus vehicle reimbursement.
- Hours: Day Shift - Shift A: 5:45am – 11:35am, Shift B: 12:00pm – 5:00pm. End times may vary based on mail volume.
- Employment begins: July 25, 2026, with training starting one week prior.
- Benefits: Straight time, health & welfare, holiday pay, and vehicle reimbursement paid out as cash equivalents up to the maximum of 40 hours per week, subject to Department of Labor Wage Determination under the Service Contract Act.
