Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and security of the general public, staff, and inmates.
• Train and oversee inmate work crew in laundry operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant completion of assigned tasks.
• Maintain facility and work‑site safety and security through clear communication, training inmates in proper use of controlled items, keys, tools, equipment, and chemicals; enforce security procedures by conducting work‑site searches, monitoring workplace environment and inmate behavior, initiating verbal reprimands or physical control when warranted, supervising inmate movement, performing counts and transportation, and responding to emergencies (fights, fires, escapes) per agency policy.
• Promote a safe and secure environment through conscientious observation, clear communication, and adherence to agency Administrative Regulations, Facility Implementation Adjustments, and the Code of Penal Discipline.
• Provide supervisory duties for assigned inmate crew, setting work standards according to agency mission, vision, and values to promote high performance and security.
• Train and instruct inmates in laundry operations per agency policy, including proper use of laundry equipment, sanitation standards, cleaning supplies, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); ensure adherence to housekeeping and sanitation procedures to prevent injury and infection.
