Responsibilities
- Ensure that Southern Careers Institute’s philosophy of Student First is a priority.
- Continually meet or exceed all admissions objectives as determined by management.
- Interview prospective students seeking acceptance into one of the programs offered by SCI.
- Set-up appointments for and conduct interviews with all prospects, accompanied by a complete tour of the training facility.
- Provide guidance and assistance to new students through the registration and admission process.
- Present all information about the school, the programs, and the careers of interest accurately and honestly.
- Plans and organizes instruction in ways which maximize student learning.
- Practice excellence in teaching and instruction.
- Modify instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs.
- Prepare lesson plans and teach course as prescribed by the approved institutional curriculum.
- Administer tests and maintain a record of student grades.
- Issue lab assignments and homework.
- Conduct classes in a professional and educational environment.
- Enforce school policies and procedures.
- Maintain proper discipline and order in the classroom so that learning is not hindered by unacceptable student behavior.
- Motivate students to learn and enjoy the material being studied.
- Contribute to the Institution and the community by attending, and participating in, all scheduled faculty and in-service meetings.
- Demonstrate evidence of professional growth and academic currency.
- Participate in retention activities such as but not limited to calling, emailing and special events for students.
- Be completely familiar with the other departments on campus and their functions.
- Attend and participate in all start dates and orientation functions.
- Represent the Institute and all affiliated brands in a professional and positive light at all times.
Qualifications
- Relocation to San Antonio, TX
- Minimum 3yrs experience driving CDL A Tractor/Trailer
- Able to pass DOT Health card
- No major moving violations in the past 3yrs
- 1-3 years supervising professional staff members, experience at a post-secondary educational institute preferred
- 1-3 years of professional experience planning, analyzing and evaluating programs and services, operational needs and fiscal constraints preferred
