What You’ll Do

  • Knowledge and experience with students eligible for special education.
  • Cook up activities to determine student eligibility for placement with MSSD through facilitation and collaboration with Building Leadership.
  • Oversee and manage student and staff data for MSSD, utilizing the student information system platform.
  • Cook up collection, reporting, and submission of data for Core Data/MOSIS in a timely manner.
  • Stay current on MAP-A requirements, alternative assessment best practices, problem-solving mitigations, and platform functioning/capabilities, and make sure MSSD staff are registered, trained, assisted, and supported.
  • Provide outreach support and information to Local Education Agencies in regard to Federal and State requirements for Special Education and programming for students with low incidence disabilities and/or significant cognitive disabilities.
  • Serve as the truancy officer for students served by MSSD.

What You Need

  • A minimum of five years of work experience with students in special education, with preference given to candidates who have a background in working with individuals with significant disabilities.
  • OR A minimum of five years of work experience with data entry, reporting, and communication.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree, in special education or a closely related field.
