About the Role

Driving of company equipment within DOT/AMP requirements to transport outbound and inbound materials.

Responsibilities

• Drives truck for pick-up and delivery of materials.
• Adheres to all DOT, AMP, and safety regulations.
• Uses appropriate equipment for each type of movement.
• Performs pre-operation safety checklist prior to operation of equipment and post-operation once complete.
• Requests needed maintenance as required.
• Refuels and prepares equipment, checks fluid levels, and cleans equipment internally.
• Detects and eliminates or minimizes safety hazards.
• Verifies product labels and shipping documents prior to departure for delivery and with customer.
• Has customer sign shipping document and reports any discrepancies to manager.
• May assist with loading, unloading, and stacking finished products and/or materials by hand or using lifting devices.
• Observes and reports any damage to building, property, product, or equipment immediately.
• Follows post-accident substance testing policy as required.
• Maintains accurate logs if delivering outside a hundred-mile radius from home base or crossing state lines.
• Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance is required.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent driving experience.
• Must possess and maintain a current driver’s license.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Must have a clean driving and safety record working within DOT rules and regulations.
• Must sign required releases annually to allow AMP to perform driving records check.
• Must have previous experience delivering to customer locations.
• Must have current medical card.
• Must be fluent in the English language, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
• Must be able to use simple math and basic hand-held measuring tools.
• Must complete training and be signed off on procedures needed to fulfill job requirements within 2 months of hire.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Moderate to heavy physical effort required, including extended periods of sitting/driving, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing steps or ladders.
• Must be able to grasp, perform fine and coarse manipulation, and reach both forward and above head level.
• Must tolerate temperature changes for the entire shift.
• Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50-100 pounds.
• Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions.
