Summary
The NAPA Private Fleet, CDL A Local Driver operates various tractor-trailer combinations for extended periods, transporting and delivering freight safely, efficiently, and legally.
Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver freight regionally for short or long distances in a safe, efficient, timely, and legal manner.
- Perform routine inspection and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and document and refer defects/repairs to manager and maintenance representative.
- Accurately document and log work/rest periods in company assigned ELD (Electronic Logging Device).
- Safely load and unload all equipment/materials when needed over and properly secure all loads.
- Communicate with Dispatch/Operations regarding movements, problems with equipment, cargo, delays, etc.
- Complete necessary paperwork including shipping and billing documents and maintain records required under state and federal laws and regulations.
- Represent the Company in a professional manner.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 23 years of age
- Current valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Class A endorsement and Hazardous Materials (HAZ-MAT) endorsement
- At least 2 years of CDL experience preferred
- 2 years Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVRA)
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50 lbs
- Ability to operate electronics such as tablets, computers, and ELDs

- Frequent standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reaching with hands and arms

Pay and Benefits
- Starting mileage pay range: $0.58 - $0.60 per mile
- Average miles for this position: 2,500 - 2,700
