Responsibilities

• Deliver instruction on the SAGE curriculum to student drivers, both on a skills driving range and in the truck on public roads.
• Communicate instructions clearly, assess student performance, and provide guidance on maneuvering.
• Maintain a professional, respectful, and safety‑focused attitude while teaching.
• Work 4‑ to 12‑hour shifts, including nights and weekends, to allow students to train while keeping instructors home at night.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL license.
• Minimum two (2) years of practical trucking‑related experience that demonstrates instructional competency.
• Safe CDL A driving record as determined by the SAGE Safety Department.
• Demonstrated knowledge of safe truck‑driving principles, laws, and regulations covering interstate tractor‑trailer operations.
• Ability to demonstrate SAGE curriculum subject matter to students.
• Professional attitude assessed on professionalism, respect, motivation, maturity, and safety.
• Pass Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations qualifications, including Part 391 physical standards and a DOT drug/alcohol screen.
