CDL Driver Class A

About the role

Merchants Distributors, LLC (MDI) is seeking Tractor-Trailer Drivers to join our team at the Distribution Center in Hickory, NC. Candidates must live within one hour commute of Merchants Distributors (MDI).

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of goods to customers
• Review orders prior to delivery
• Assist with the unloading of trucks
• Provide exceptional customer service to clients
• Deliveries cover PA, OH, MD, KY, WV, VA, TN, NC, SC, GA, FL

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age with an active CDL Class A
• Clean MVR with no more than 2 tickets and no at-fault DOT accidents in the previous 3 years
• 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer driving experience pulling 45–53 ft. trailers or graduation from an accredited Class A CDL truck driving school
• Must pass all necessary testing for employment (MVR, criminal, drug, DOT physical, job simulation test)

• Basic computer skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to interact well with supervision and co-workers
• Self-starter with good organizational skills
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Safely assist in unloading pallets using a pallet jack (manual and electric)
• Handle cases up to 100 lbs. at some locations
• Work an open schedule up to 6 days a week and holidays
• Complete a proper pre-trip inspection and pass an onsite backing test
