CDL Class A Driver

About the role

Mueller, now part of the Cornerstone Building Brands family, is seeking a Driver to transport and deliver building materials to customers, distribution centers, and construction job sites using a tractor-trailer. This position requires safe driving, material handling, and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform material handling activities, including loading and unloading material on a trailer by hand, forklift, or overhead crane.
• Reconcile material requirements with the shipping list to ensure accurate delivery and obtain customer signatures to verify receipt.
• Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the tractor and trailer; ensure deficiencies are corrected before operating.
• Operate onboard recording systems and adhere to company policies, D.O.T. regulations, and all federal, state, and local traffic laws.
• Deliver products during the day using a piggy-back trailer-mounted forklift (training available) at customer job sites.
• Provide courteous, prompt, and professional customer service at all times.
• Frequently stand, lift, bend, and move heavy products (60+ pounds).
• Work in varying temperatures and seasonal climate conditions outside the tractor-trailer.
• Inspect and clean the vehicle to ensure all functions are working correctly and maintain a good appearance.
• Assist in inventory management activities, including cycle counts.
• Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner while ensuring customer-focused activities and services.

Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
• 2 years of previous tractor-trailer flatbed driving experience, including winter driving (equivalent Military DD214 experience is acceptable).
• Must be able to drive interstate as business necessitates.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be insurable according to company insurance requirements.
• Strong customer service skills.
• A combination of education and experience may be qualifying.

Pay

Base pay rate starts at $26.00 per hour.

Schedule

Day Shift, Monday through Friday.
