About the Role
Our CDL Class A Truck Driver will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our clients by partnering with a successful team of innovative and value-driven employees to deliver and pick up stock as routed in a timely and safe manner.
Responsibilities
- Transport goods and supplies onsite and offsite, working within established procedures to ensure on-time delivery.
- Visually inspect loaded trucks to ensure orders are pulled, packaged, converted, shipped, and loaded properly to avoid damages during transportation.
- Report all defects or equipment problems to the supervisor.
- Work according to an assigned schedule.
- Provide professional and courteous interactions with customers to ensure a positive experience.
- File and retrieve proper documents and delivery records from company filing systems while monitoring inventory quality and quantity availability.
- Follow mandatory work instructions to safeguard the environment and the wellbeing of oneself and others.
- Report any problems or issues with facilities and customers.
- Operate various equipment and machines, adjusting variables to achieve efficiency.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including order filling, loading/unloading trucks, wrapping, and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be available for the 1st work shift.
- This is a represented position.
- Must observe all Department of Transportation and driving regulations, maintaining a safe driving record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record.
- Hazmat endorsement preferred and required within the first six weeks of hire.
- Ability to operate various material handling equipment; liftgate experience preferred.
- Familiarity with a computerized warehouse system is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and customer relations skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must have a valid Class A CDL.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
Qualifications
- Verifiable Class A license and 12+ months of driving experience, compliant with all regulatory requirements.
- High School Diploma/GED preferred.
Working Conditions
The work environment includes:
- Regular exposure to outside weather conditions, temperature extremes, visibility issues, wet and/or humid conditions, and vibrations.
- Exposure to loud noise, dust, mechanical hazards, moving objects, and vehicles.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift, twist, turn, and carry 50–75 pounds; manipulate (push and pull) up to 160 pounds of product with material handling equipment; and move skids weighing up to 2,000 pounds using a pallet jack.
- Repetitively open and close shipping container doors (approx. 500 pounds) and swing doors (approx. 300 pounds), and operate a lift gate.
- Frequent walking, standing (on the ground or while operating Material Handling Equipment), and sitting (at stationary locations and while driving).
- Periodic stooping and occasional kneeling.
- Frequent climbing, including getting in and out of the truck cab and trailer, using the 3-point contact method.
