CDL - Boiler Truck Operator

About the role

As a working driver for The Vortex Companies, LLC, you’ll split time between operating CDL vehicles and supporting trenchless rehabilitation of water, sewer, and storm-water pipelines. When not behind the wheel, you’ll collaborate with supervisors and crew members on inspections, cleaning, repairs, and CIPP lining projects.

Responsibilities

  • Operate truck-mounted boilers to cure CIPP liners in various pipeline types.
  • Assist with CIPP liner installation and reinstatement of sewer service laterals.
  • Set up CIPP equipment, including hoses, inverters, and traffic-control devices.
  • Travel as required; per diem and hotel accommodations provided by the company.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Work in a team environment, often on your feet for long shifts.
  • Enter manhole structures and confined spaces.
  • Dispose of liner debris from reefer trucks into dumpsters.
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip CDL inspections on vehicles.
  • Maintain boiler-truck fluids and monitor temperatures and pressures during liner processing.
  • Operate and learn power tools such as grinders and reciprocating saws.

Requirements

  • Experience in the construction field.
  • Valid Class B CDL license with a clean driving record over the last three years.
  • Knowledge of confined-space entry, CIPP lining, and construction safety.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to access federal installations for work.
  • Assist with setup, installation, and cleanup of liner projects.
  • Willingness to learn and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stoop while using hand tools.

Schedule

Full-time, non-exempt position. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, but shift work, weekends, evenings, and holidays may be required based on job demands.

Pay

Salary range: $22.00 – $32.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, skills, experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
