Hiring event: Wednesday, September 2nd, 9am–5pm at 901 S. Lake St, Oswego, IL 60538 (next to White Eagle Auto Body). This position serves the Chicago market.

About the role

Food and food-service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while serving as the face of our company—building lasting relationships with customers. Drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, delivering and unloading food and food-related products in a safe, timely manner in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. They communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers, answer questions accurately, and function as a team member within the department and organization.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including DOT-compliant inspections of tractor/truck and trailer; report safety issues and needed repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe-driving guidelines; immediately report safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route schedules.
  • Unload products from trailer, transport items into designated customer storage areas, and perform damage control checks.
  • Scan items, contact supervisor about removing orders per company policy, and verify delivery with customer signatures.
  • Collect money (cash or checks) where required; load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors.
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns at driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload equipment and materials, remove trash from trailers, and perform general housekeeping duties.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and log in accordance with federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Valid CDL B.
  • 12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to secure a new one.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheelers, lift gates, or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout the shift.

Pay

Earning potential of $80,000+, with a daily minimum of $309.14.

Schedule

Tuesday–Saturday, dispatch between 3am–5am.
