Hiring Event – August 6th from 9:00am to 2:00pm. No appointment needed! The event is located at 825 Maddox Simpson Parkway, Lebanon, TN.

Pay

Average weekly earnings of $1,700–$1,800 after training, with the potential to earn $3,000+ per week. $7,500 sign-on bonus (terms apply: any person who has worked for a Performance Food Group (PFG) owned company within the last 6 months is not eligible).

Schedule

4-day work week with routes scheduled Sunday–Saturday on a rotating basis. Dispatch times range from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM, with end times varying based on route assignment.

About the role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country’s food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers’ products arrive at their destination at the arranged times and in good condition, while also building lasting relationships with our customers.

Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co-workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Function as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duty assigned to best serve the company.
  • Perform all required safety checks (e.g., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed.
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required; follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies; immediately report all safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks of items and verify customer invoices of loaded products.
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule.
  • Unload products from the trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas.
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan products, and contact supervisor about removing orders according to company policy.
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures.
  • Ensure that tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check-in, and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Unload all equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area, and keep trailers clear and clean as required.
  • At the end of the shift, secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • 6 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Meet all State licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Attain or have a valid current DOT Health Card and/or be able to secure a new DOT Health Card.
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate, and/or other equipment to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight throughout shift (product generally ranges from 10–35 pounds and up to 60–90 pounds, depending on location).
