About the role

The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) seeks a skilled professional to manage and update program compliance documents and maintain stakeholder connections. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of various housing and community development programs.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and update risk involved in granting single family, multifamily, and commercial loans, government assistance programs, and construction management.
• Maintain and update program manuals, loan documents, directives, newsletters, program income and purchase price limits, training materials, presentations, and announcements.
• Ensure timely and accurate maintenance of databases and memberships related to Single Family Housing programs with US Bank, lenders, NCSHA, FNMA, Freddie Mac, FHA, and other stakeholders.
• Work with both internal and external clients to improve knowledge and performance through training and development of reference materials.
• Promote the interests of the Single Family Programs and foster relationships with stakeholders within DHCD and external business partners.
• Optimize the deployment of programs, improve the programs' image, and increase statewide awareness to support the Department's mission.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
• Nine years of experience evaluating the risk involved in granting single family, multifamily, and commercial loans, government assistance programs, and/or construction management.
• Candidates may substitute a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Management, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Architecture, or any other related field and five years of experience for the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in loan specialist classification, loan specialist specialty codes in the loan specialist field of work, or as a commissioned officer in business and industry classification or business and industry specialty codes in the housing management field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

Desired or Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with reviewing and editing formal legal contracts.
• Experience with drafting policies for mortgage-related programs.
• Experience with Government-funded programs (Residential mortgage financing/underwriting).
