Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee compliance programs and initiatives to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify potential compliance issues and develop corrective action plans as needed.
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations affecting property management and ensure timely compliance.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on compliance matters, promoting a culture of compliance and ethical conduct.
  • Collaborate with various departments including leasing, maintenance, accounting, and legal to integrate compliance requirements into daily operations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance-related inquiries and issues, both internally and externally.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports and filings accurately and on time.
  • Monitor and analyze compliance metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
  • Conduct investigations of compliance concerns and violations and recommend disciplinary action or process improvements as necessary.
  • Maintain documentation and records related to compliance activities and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CPM or similar certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, or related field, preferably in property management.
  • Experience with at least 6 low-income projects with at least 10 units each, each managed for at least 3 years, with 2 of those projects being CTCAC deals.
  • Strong knowledge of Fair Housing laws, LEP guidelines, and other relevant regulations.
  • Prioritize interpretation and application of complex regulations and requirements.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in property management software and tools; experience with Yardi or similar platforms preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to assigned properties within the designated area as needed.
