About the role
Possesses a good working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and storage procedures. Must have a working knowledge of computer operation and related office equipment. Must have a working knowledge of aviation tools, supplies and logistics systems and the ability to understand and read supply and aircraft publications in written or electronic form. Must have a working knowledge of FAR Part 45 and 52 as it applies to their responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Prepares, receives, inspects, inventories, loads, unloads, transports, segregates, routes, stores, stocks, issues, turns-in, ships, and delivers incoming and outgoing property in a timely manner.
- Compares packing lists, receiving documents, bills of lading, inspection reports, and other documents with contracts, purchase orders, or other requisitions to verify accuracy of stock identification, quantity, condition, and other pertinent data.
- Inspects, tags, labels, counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Updates records, receipts, and other applicable documents as necessary by use of data processing equipment.
- Captures and executes Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO) where applicable with management approval.
- Stores and issues hazardous waste and materials. Controls the issue of sensitive, classified, and controlled items.
- Utilizes and executes Defense Reutilization Marketing Office (DRMO) where applicable with management approval.
- Processes Beyond Economical Repair (BER) components. Processes repair of repairable components.
- Creates requisitions for parts and materials to meet maintenance requirements utilizing appropriate automated logistics and information management systems.
- Researches potential lateral support and coordinates material transfer.
- Interprets parts substitutions and usable on codes in the Illustrated Parts Break-down (IPB).
- Performs logistics’ driver duties as required by mission needs.
- Maintains the cleanliness of the work area, performs various daily office tasks and any other logistics related duties as required or assigned.
- Maintains the highest ethical personal and professional standards.
- Other projects and initiatives as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in automated inventory control of parts, materials and equipment management and property management functions.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completed formal training conducted by the U.S. Armed Forces or training courses conducted by industry or civilian institutions.
- Thorough knowledge of the packaging, storage, shipment and transfer of property and supplies.
- Thorough knowledge on military property accountability procedures, forms, and records.
- Thorough knowledge on military/government supply system pertaining to aircraft parts, components, materials, and applicable maintenance/technical publications.
- Knowledge of elementary arithmetic: addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
- Familiarity with general office concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Computer literacy.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
- Able to plan and prioritize work assignments with little or no supervision.
- Willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous and professional manner.
- Willing and able to adhere to Company policies/procedures and management instruction.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and Company Proprietary data.
Qualifications
- Must have a DoD security clearance.
- Must be able to work weekends, other shifts and overtime as required.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions
The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to changes in temperature and weather. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards. May work near moving mechanical parts. Physical Demands This classification activity is usually accomplished in a warehouse environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with these activities. Typical physical demands or activities include climbing, standing, bending, pushing, kneeling, stretching, walking, and sometimes working in cramped or awkward positions. May be required to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds.
