Cath Lab Technologist III

The Cath Lab Technologist III position at St Luke's Health - Memorial - Lufkin involves assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating patients with cardiovascular disease in the cath lab setting. Key responsibilities include operating all ancillary equipment, demonstrating competency in scrubbing techniques, and ensuring good radiation safety practices.
Responsibilities
- Independently operate all ancillary equipment in the lab including IVUS, pressure wire, rotablator, IMPELLA, atherectomy devices, laser, and angiojet.
- Demonstrate competencies in scrubbing techniques of all diagnostic and interventional procedures.
- Utilize good radiation safety practices.
- Maintain a professional and patient-oriented atmosphere to enhance patient care.
- Manage staff and room activities to maximize productivity.
- Coordinate staffing assignments within the room to ensure technical role assignments are responsive to patients' needs and reflective of staff member abilities.
- Initiate actions to minimize case delays and report schedule information promptly to the schedule coordinator and other appropriate personnel.
- Operate radiographic equipment using radiation safety procedures.
- Operate physiologic recorder/database system with expertise recognizing arrhythmias and normal/abnormal waveforms.
- Operate manifold, power injector, and other support equipment (VCR, ACT machines, oximeters, and transport monitors).
Requirements
- A degree in a related field (Associate's degree preferred)
- Five (5) years of clinical experience in a hospital setting
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Technician, Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, or Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
- BLS certification (within 14 days)
- ACLS certification (within 6 months)
Qualifications
- Strong organizational skills including strong interaction and time management skills, independent problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills, and fiscal management skills.
- Ability to manage staff and room activities to maximize productivity.
- Experience in operating radiographic equipment and physiologic recorder/database system.
- Knowledge of general imaging workflow, patient positioning techniques, and capturing clear results for timely and accurate diagnosis.

Pay
The posted compensation range for this position is $33.84 - $50.34 per hour, reflecting the lowest and highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.
Schedule
The shift is an evening shift from 2pm to 10pm with some call and extended shifts. The weekly schedule includes 80 hours per pay period.
