This role encompasses specialized Radiologic Technologist positions within our Cardiac Cath Lab, Electrophysiology (EP), Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR), and Neuro Interventional teams. Each position requires competency as an assistant to the respective physician, with specific knowledge and skills tailored to the specialty.

Specialty-Specific Responsibilities

• Cath Lab: Assist Interventional Cardiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures, including scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. Requires knowledge of X-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique.
• Electrophysiology (EP): Assist Electrophysiologists in non-invasive and invasive procedures. Requires knowledge of X-ray equipment, arrhythmia monitoring, cardiac structures, heart chamber anatomy, and sterile technique.
• Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR): Assist Interventional Radiologists in minimally invasive, image-guided vascular procedures, including scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. Requires knowledge of imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy, computed tomography (CT), and ultrasound.
• Neuro Interventional: Assist Neuro Interventional Radiologists in diagnostic and interventional procedures. Requires knowledge of X-ray equipment, hemodynamic monitoring, cerebral angiogram coiling, arteriovenous malformations, stroke interventions, and sterile technique.

Responsibilities

• 85% of the role involves assisting the Interventionalist in the specific specialty area as described above.
• 10% of the role includes:
  • Greeting patients upon arrival and checking charts for required data (e.g., informed consent).
  • Reporting patient absences or abnormalities to the RN or physician.
  • Explaining procedures, providing instructions, and answering patient questions.
  • Participating in room turnover and patient transport.
• 5% of the role involves assisting the Radiation Safety Officer in quality assurance of labs and radiation protective apparel, including:
  • Performing tasks using radiation safety principles.
  • Inspecting lead aprons for tears, reporting findings, and removing inadequate gear from service.
  • Maintaining accurate records or collaborating with the Radiology department to ensure record-keeping compliance.
• As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency in performing job duties.

Qualifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – American Heart Association.
• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Association.
• State of Ohio Radiologic Licensure.
• Licensed in the field – State of Ohio.

Schedule

Day shift, scheduled for 40 hours per week.
