Catering Supervisor | Part-Time | Owensboro Convention Center

Responsibilities

• Oversee serving meals to guests or directing guests to the buffet line and proper buffet and plated meal service standards.
• Serve beverages to guests, including alcoholic beverages.
• Check guest’s ID to verify minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Record a guest’s order and relay the order to the kitchen via the P.O.S. system, if applicable.
• Observe guests to respond to any additional requests and determine when the meal service has been completed.
• Compute the cost of the meal and present the guest with the check.
• Accept payments and provide change as necessary.
• Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas.
• Show demonstrated ability to meet the company standard for excellent attendance.
• Assure that the location equipment is operable and clean prior to the start of the event.
• Recognize guests that are visibly intoxicated and take action to cut off alcohol to such individuals.
• Assist management team with projects including training, inventory, and special events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma / GED
• Energetic and self-motivated
• Available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and select holidays as required
• Positive attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to work unsupervised
• Wear clean non-slip shoes; must say "non-slip" on shoe
• Ability to follow direction and ask questions for clarification if needed
• Ability to keep up in a fast-paced kitchen environment
• Must provide proof of completion of state-approved alcohol server training and valid alcohol server certification upon hire, or complete such training from an approved provider within 30 days of employment.

The Owensboro Convention Center is a full-service facility overlooking the scenic Ohio River in revitalized downtown Owensboro, Kentucky. It boasts just under 102,000 sq. ft. of available space, including a 44,000+ sq. ft. exhibition hall, the 8,900+ sq. ft. Kentucky Legend® Pier outside over the scenic Ohio River, and additional ballroom, meeting, and prefunction space.

Pay

This role will pay an hourly rate of $17.00.
