About the role

The Catering Coordinator at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center is responsible for coordinating catered events and maintaining the Physicians Dining Room. This includes preparing the food and the room, serving and cleaning up of catered meals, setting up and presenting food to recipients, ensuring neatness and appropriate temperatures, monitoring food and supply status, and cleaning and restocking rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Catering events coordination with director and/or management team
  • Setting up designated room according to Room Reservation Request and/or through verbal communication
  • Preparing or ensuring preparation of appropriate food is completed to meet time requirements for each event
  • Serving and cleaning up of catered meals
  • Checking on function as needed and tending to any further need for food and/or supplies
  • Cleaning and restocking rooms after events
  • Maintaining the Physicians Dining Room by setting up meals for physicians' breakfast, lunch, and snacks
  • Restocking meals throughout the day
  • Maintaining cleanliness and neatness of the Physicians Dining Room
  • Assisting with food preparation for catering events
  • Ensuring accurate and complete communications of all areas related to each catering event
  • Showing creativity in addressing issues rather than defeating attitude
  • Demonstrating negotiations/conflict resolution skills
  • Understanding and adhering to the confidentiality policy
  • Accepting accountability for impact of behavior on others
  • Displaying enthusiasm and self-motivation in performing job duties
  • Volunteering to represent the organization in the community as needed
  • Adhering to the attendance policy
  • Seeking new assignments and assuming additional duties when necessary

  • Completing annual educational requirements
  • Maintaining education and development appropriate for position
  • Wearing identification/badge while on duty
  • Attending appropriate departmental and committee meetings on a regular basis
  • Attending departmental in-service and mandatory education
  • Masters new work routine, methods, and techniques
  • Understanding hospital and departmental policies and procedures
  • Managing the environment of care by reducing the risk of acquiring or transmitting infection, adhering to safety standards, utilizing personal protective equipment, and following emergency codes and procedures
  • Washing hands thoroughly and frequently following good personal hygiene practices
  • Understanding and utilizing personal protective equipment to protect from exposure to chemical, radiation, and/or biohazard
  • Able to describe responsibilities for each code as well as evacuation route and department meeting area
  • Supporting hospital mission statement, standards of behavior, and goals
  • Supporting hospital’s smoking policy

Qualifications

  • Formal training and/or education in Food Services or catering field
  • Computer training and/or skills
  • Current ServSafe Handler Permit, Williamson County Health Department Food Handler Card or State Food Safety permit at time of hire

Skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Stocking and maintaining food in the EMS 1 and EMS 2
