About the Role
Accountable for leading, guiding, and directing the functional responsibilities within an area of assignment. Enable ministry-level or enterprise-wide functional strategy to address internal or external business and regulatory issues. Provide functional expertise and ensure fulfillment of performance and service standards. Responsible for consistent operating performance and achieving financial goals. Identifies, defines, and solves complex problems that impact the management and direction of the business.
Collaborates with Services Areas, Regions, and Health Ministries to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations while maintaining awareness of new industry developments and standards. Provides decision support, operations, and/or optimization leadership focus.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM and Region leaders in developing strategies and achieving performance goals.
- Enable collaboration across and within service areas, RHM, and Regions to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
- Lead standardization, systemness, and optimization of policy, process, and methodology, establishing a national community of practice.
- Oversee Vendor/Contract Labor Management, including centralizing strategy and optimizing spend.
- Collaborate in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
- Support regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities and hold accountability for the selection, evaluation, and success of functional leadership teams.
- Serve as an organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing.
- Ensure communication between service area functional area, RHM, and Region leaders.
- Measure and report KPIs/metrics and value delivery.
- Provide advice, guidance, and leadership for the colleague life cycle.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws/regulations, Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program, and Code of Conduct.
- Lead strategic sourcing activities for complex initiatives to achieve significant cost reductions and year-over-year cost and productivity improvements.
- Manage competitive sourcing processes, complex contract negotiations, and limit exposure to high-risk projects.
- Maintain business relationships with suppliers and Trinity’s group purchasing organization (GPO).
- Drive system compliance by optimizing the use of national group purchasing, custom group purchasing, and Trinity Health system agreements.
- Conduct competitive sourcing and negotiation processes for initiatives with moderate risk and value.
- Analyze responses, perform cost-benefit analyses, and present findings.
- Collect, clean, and validate large datasets from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies; develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
- Perform ad-hoc analysis and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders.
- Conduct category assessments including spend analysis, demand forecasting, supply market intelligence, and risk evaluation.
- Lead enterprise spend management activities across assigned categories, ensuring alignment with financial goals and budget targets.
- Lead strategy development, manage RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes, and oversee analysis and negotiations.
- Lead cross-functional teams for strategic sourcing initiatives to drive system-wide standardization and cost reductions.
- Develop, execute, and communicate sourcing strategies in collaboration with senior management and key stakeholders.
- Promote a lean/process excellence culture and participate in joint quality improvement initiatives.
- Engage suppliers in selection processes and maintain business relationships ethically and legally.
- Develop primary liaison roles for key suppliers and conduct business reviews.
- Maintain business relationships with GPO leadership and represent Trinity on advisory boards.
- Plan, manage, and oversee the lifecycle of complex sourcing projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Utilize Supply Chain Management’s digital systems, including strategic sourcing and contract lifecycle management applications.
- Partner with the Finance department to validate forecasted savings.
- Ensure effective handoff of executed contracts to business owners and other stakeholders.
- Track and measure supplier performance against scorecards and conduct supplier business reviews.
- Facilitate dialogue with local business owners, RHM senior management, and Supply Chain staff to remove barriers.
- Establish procedures for managing a comprehensive sourcing process for assigned products/services/IT.
- Perform other duties as required in a competent, professional, and courteous manner.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in business, supply chain management, data science, or clinical discipline; and at least seven (7) years of sourcing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Thorough knowledge of supply chain principles and practices with demonstrated ability to perform financial analysis.
- Comprehensive knowledge and skills in advanced data analytics and procurement practices, including intermediate to advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar applications.
- Understanding of Lean and technical problem-solving concepts and techniques.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate complex findings clearly.
- Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with stakeholders and external suppliers.
- Ability to address conflict and challenge conventional thinking at all organizational levels.
- Capability to understand customer and stakeholder businesses at financial, operational, and business impact levels.
- Proactive identification and resolution of potential issues, with strong analytical skills to construct and execute complex analyses (e.g., Total Cost of Ownership, Economic Value to Customer, Net Present Value).
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
- Ability to quickly gain a fact-based understanding of the current supplier base and major market trends.
- Knowledge of contract law and governing regulations with ability to collaborate with internal legal counsel.
- Self-starter with minimal supervision required; ability to manage priorities and work independently.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple and changing priorities.
- Comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
Additional Qualifications
- Healthcare industry experience is preferred.
- Highly proficient in data visualization, statistical analysis, and business intelligence tools.
