Responsibilities
- Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) level technical and commercial expertise and supports projects and operations in the direct procurement process
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with project teams and related stakeholders
- Implements the comprehensive plan for both technical and commercial aspects of the projects
- Drafts project specific Request for Quotations (RFQ) of Engineered to Order packages for equipment suppliers and/or manufacturers
- Ensures the prequalification of bidders
- Led technical bid evaluations
- Prepares purchase recommendations and decisions up to a predetermined threshold(s)
- Drafts purchase order (PO) content prior to release to purchasing department; reviews PO prior to release to the supplier
- Manages the order life cycle from submittal approval process to shipment or assignment
- Maintains oversight of equipment delivery, engaging vendors in developing alternative options for management approval to address any delivery slippage
- Coordinates delivery activities and verifies major package receipts if purchase order is not assigned to a subcontractor
- Ensures that tasks/duties that are not included in the equipment purchase are assigned to the appropriate subcontractors or to the Gilbane field team
- Provides critical SME input to quarterly company market publication(s)
- Collaborates on the development and refinement of technical Supply Chain practices and tools for assigned product categories
- Executes objectives, to meet or exceed KPIs, while leading the team to reach productivity, quality, service, and safety goals
- Manages the Trade Partner risk mitigation strategy and execution including coordination with Operations teams, Risk Management, and Leadership team
- Counsels and mentors less experienced team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field
- 7-10 years of experience in engineering, subcontracting, sourcing, or supply chain
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications
- Knowledge of subcontract documents, drawings, and specifications
- Knowledge and understanding of contractual terms, conditions, and risk mitigation
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiating skills
- Advanced oral communication, written communication, and people skills
Skills
- Ability to execute and collaborate on multiple varied projects at one time, with frequent changing priorities
Benefits
Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience of the applicant, as well as the internal equity and alignment with the team. For (Insert State) this ranges from $110,000 - 150,000 plus benefits and retirement program.
