Cat Scan Technician PRN
About the role
We are seeking a Cat Scan Technician to join our team at Starr Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health. Our mission is to make communities healthier by providing exceptional care.
Responsibilities
- Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
- Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
- Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
- Maintains patient condition and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
- Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
- Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
- Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
- Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
Requirements
- Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology and Computed Tomography.
- BLS certification required.
- Two-year certificate, associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree preferred.
Qualifications
Must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
