Cat Scan Technician (CT) PRN

About the role

We are seeking a Cat Scan Technician to join our dedicated team at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. As a member of our healthcare network, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient history and physician’s orders.
• Educates patients on procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice when ordered.
• Maintains patient safety by monitoring patient condition and responding to changes appropriately.
• Ensures equipment and supplies are prepared and maintained according to safety standards and performs quality control checks.
• Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions.
• Positions patients and performs imaging procedures.
• Analyzes imaging results, identifies quality issues, and takes corrective action, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures if needed.
• Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.

Requirements

• Education: Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
• Licenses/Certifications: Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Radiology and Computed Tomography; BLS required.

Qualifications

• Experience in medical imaging or related field preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
