About the role
A Cat Scan Technician (CT) provides computed tomography (CT) imaging in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director of Radiology and/or Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Serves as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing diagnostic imaging services to patients.
- Performs CT examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Assists in the preparation of patients for examination, including positioning and immobilization.
- Operates CT equipment, ensuring accurate and efficient image acquisition.
- Documents patient information accurately and maintains medical records.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
- Two-year certificate, Associate's degree, or Baccalaureate degree.
- Current Radiation Operator Certificate in state of practice; registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Radiology and Computed Tomography.
- BLS required.
Qualifications
- Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow complex procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and colleagues.
Skills
- Proficiency with CT equipment and related technology.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and protection practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
