Casting Finisher - 1st Shift

About the role

Remove excess materials from castings using a small portable grinder, files, belt grinder, and similar tools. Position castings on a bench or table, determine materials to be removed, and apply the appropriate tool to remove specified materials. Work generally involves standard or routine castings that have been repaired by welding.

Responsibilities

• Remove excess materials from castings using portable grinders, files, belt grinders, and other hand tools.
• Position castings on benches or tables for processing.
• Determine which materials need to be removed from each casting.
• Perform routine or standard repairs on castings that have been welded.

Requirements

• Prior experience removing excess materials with a grinder (willing to train).
• Strong prioritizing and planning skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
