Cast Technician
Schedule
Monday-Friday (Day Shift) - No weekends, no holidays, no on call.
Travel required to all sites - Dublin, Westerville, New Albany and Main Campus-Downtown.
Job Description
Essential Functions:
- Prepares patients for orthopedic procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort during the procedure.
- Applies and removes casts, splints, and braces as directed by the physician.
- Affords assistance to physicians in the reduction of fractures and dislocations.
- Orders and maintains inventory of orthopedic supplies and equipment.
- Cleans and sterilizes equipment and instruments to ensure patient safety.
- Maintains accurate patient records and ensures they are up-to-date.
Education Requirement
A High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
Certifications
Certification from a Medical Assisting Program, Certified Nurse Aide (CNA), or equivalent, preferred.
Skills
Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Experience
One year previous healthcare experience, preferred.
Experience as Orthopedic Cast Tech, Suture Tech, or EMT, preferred.

OCCASIONALLY: Bend/twist, Biohazard waste, Blood and/or Bodily Fluids, Chemicals/Medications, Communicable Diseases and/or Pathogens, Decision Making, Driving motor vehicles (work required)
Frequent: Lifting / Carrying: 0-10 lbs, Lifting / Carrying: 11-20 lbs, Sitting, Standing
