About the Role

The Cage Shift Manager provides guest service, coordinates and supervises the controls and procedures of the Cage Cashiers, Main Bankers, and Kiosk Team Members. This role is responsible and accountable for the operation of the Cage Department, securing company funds, and ensuring accountability of all monies and routing of paperwork. The position requires self-motivation, attention to detail, and the ability to work successfully with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure cage compliance with Cash Operation Manual procedures, TICS, MICS, and Title 31 regulations.
  • Assist the Cage Manager in maintaining security and accountability of casino funds in the cage and main bank areas during assigned shifts.
  • Supervise Cage Cashiers, Main Bankers, and Kiosk Team Members to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide an orderly and positive work environment with recognition for team members.
  • Interact with Department Managers by providing pertinent information.
  • Provide ongoing training and information to new and existing personnel.
  • Conduct employee counseling, coaching, and disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Resolve any overages or shortages that occur during the shift.
  • Handle customer inquiries or complaints and follow up with proper documentation.
  • Assist the Cage Manager in scheduling staff according to company needs, approving or denying PTO requests, and preparing employee evaluations.
  • Provide prompt, friendly, and courteous service to all guests in a confidential manner while maintaining the confidentiality of all gaming records.
  • Convey a professional, friendly, and courteous manner in all interactions with guests and employees.
  • Perform emergency fills for kiosks as needed.
  • Perform cashier or main bank duties as needed.
  • Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment.
  • Associate’s Degree in a related field OR two (2) years of supervisory experience OR one (1) year of experience as a Dual-Rate Supervisor in a Wind Creek Hospitality Department OR two (2) years of experience in the hiring position’s department—required.
  • Two (2) years of high-volume cash handling experience—required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in both English and Spanish—required.
  • Minimum of $100,000 cash handling experience preferred (skills test will be administered).
  • Proficiency with a 10-key calculator (skills test will be administered) and experience working with coin and currency counters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel programs—required.
  • Ability to make precise decisions without compromising the integrity of the company.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization and excel in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required.
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Florida Statutes and remain in good standing with the Florida Gaming Control Commission.
  • Willingness to work in a smoke or secondary smoke environment.
