About the role
The Cashiering Manager oversees the day-to-day cash handling operations, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, and leads a team of supervisors/cashiers.
Essential Duties
- Oversee the daily cash handling operations related to mortgage payments, escrow transactions, and other financial transactions.
- Ensure adherence to established policies and procedures for accurate and secure processing.
- Lead and manage a team of cashiers, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Schedule and organize cashier shifts to ensure adequate coverage during peak periods.
- Monitor and manage cash handling procedures, including the reconciliation of daily transactions and ensuring accurate posting to mortgage accounts.
- Conduct regular audits to verify the accuracy of cash transactions.
- Ensure that customers receive excellent service during cash transactions.
- Address customer inquiries, concerns, and issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Implement and enforce security measures to safeguard against theft, fraud, and other risks.
- Collaborate with mortgage servicing, accounting, and finance teams to address any discrepancies and streamline cashiering processes.
- Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth cross-functional operations.
- Develop and conduct training programs for cashiers to enhance their knowledge of cashiering procedures, customer service, and security protocols.
- Stay informed about industry changes and update the team accordingly.
- Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to cash transactions promptly and effectively.
Experience & Education
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Additional education in finance, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in cashiering or financial transactions within the mortgage industry.
- Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or leadership role is preferred.
