Cash Management Specialist- Vice President
About the role
Morgan Stanley is expanding its suite of world-class banking and lending products exclusively for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney (MSSB) Financial Advisors and their clients. The Cash Management Specialist will consider client needs and recommend cash management services and solutions to Wealth Management’s Financial Advisors (FAs) and their clients, with the goal of better integrating cash management services within the wealth management process. The Specialist will be assigned to a Region and will serve as the subject-matter expert on bank products, card products, and cash management services, providing product, training, and sales support to FAs, Private Wealth Advisors, support professionals, field management, Private Bankers, and other key stakeholders.
Expert knowledge is required for products and services within the Cash Management Solutions platform, including:
- Bank & investment products (Bank Deposit Program, Global Currency Deposits)
- Card products (Morgan Stanley MasterCard Debit Card, Morgan Stanley American Express Credit Cards)
- Cash management services (checking capabilities, direct deposit, funds transfer/wires, online bill pay, available through wealth management branches, digital, and mobile channels)
Responsibilities
- Partner with Financial Advisors to provide clients with advice and guidance on the full suite of Cash Management Solutions.
- Build awareness and understanding of Cash Management Solutions among FAs, Support Professionals, and field management, clearly articulating the value proposition.
- Profile FA client bases to identify and analyze business opportunities, driving adoption of cash management solutions (e.g., deposit gathering, utilization of cash management features).
- Build, promote, and maintain a pipeline of cash management opportunities, leveraging analytics (e.g., money in motion, liquidity events, wires/external transfers).
- Establish a reputation for client focus and executional excellence, collaborating with FAs to develop cash management opportunities.
- Act as the subject-matter expert for all FA and branch staff inquiries on Cash Management Solutions.
- Understand the competitive environment and communicate Morgan Stanley’s cash management value proposition and comparative strengths.
- Support the identification of FA and SP cash management champions within branches/complexes and develop strategies to leverage best practices.
- Incorporate cash management into client onboarding and review processes.
- Collaborate with Private Bankers to identify lending referral opportunities and execute on reciprocal or bundled cash management opportunities.
- Serve as a resource for cash management services issues to build FA/SP confidence in product ease of use.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of successful banking, cash management, or treasury management services business development experience within Wealth Management.
- Knowledge of cash management services products (credit/debit cards, online bill pay, funds transfers, direct deposits, mobile banking, and treasury management solutions for individuals and commercial clients).
- Experience understanding the financial needs of diverse client types.
- BA/BS required.
